Update May 30, 2015

The low Fuel Lamp lilted at 700.7 km.
A great improvement over the 687 km the last tank.

The route and routine remains quite close.
I do think that the computer is adapting to my demand for throttling.

The low fuel lamp lilted shortly after at 700.7 km

Challenge to stretch fuel consumption to do 750 km on one tank of fuel

The challenge is not to run dry and damage the fuel pump.

More specifically, its a challenge to better my last tank of 673 km where the LOW FUEL LAMP lilted up.
Challenge in progress. I should know within two days.

VEHICLE SETUP
Age: 7, I took over at Year 6
1.8L 4cylinder Natural aspirated R18A Honda
Auto transmission
16"rim, 36 PSI or 250 Kpa
Shell 5w40 Weighted oil, last change at 104,500 km
No spare tire, but made contingencies just in case
Every other equipment are stock

This route is done all in Singapore and weekdays i take the same route.

90% expressway, 10 % city

The last notch on the fuel gauge is always a psychological battle.

Previous low fuel lamp switched on at 673 km on Apr 30, 2015

Here are the stats...

Last refuel - Apr 30, 2015 1839hrs
Start mileage 109,672 km
Fuel nozzle auto cut off: 48.4 L
Topped up to 50.002 L (13.21 US Gal)

May 6, 2015 @ 2042 hrs - 530.6 km

May 7, 2015 @ 1020 hrs - 110,256 km / 583.7 km

May 8, 2015 @ 0934 hrs - 110,333 km / 661 km

May 8, 2015 @ 1713 hrs - 681.7 km

The mark of 673 km Low Fuel Lamp is surpassed.

The Low fuel lamp lit up on 687.1 km

May 8, 2014 @ 2139 hrs, Low Fuel Lamp Lit -  687 km
750 km is gonna be tough.

The notches are not proportional since the tank is not.
The needle drops faster after the 'Half Tank'

The last time I clocked was 704.5 km, it was 31.5 km after the Low Fuel Lamp was lit.

The most thrilling part for all drives will be knowing when to throw in the towel and head for the pump station.

For this leg, the lamp lit at 687 km and i finally refuelled at 703.2 km
May 9, 2015 @ 0850 hrs - 703.2 km

Topped up to full tank with Caltex 92. Photo showing same odometer 110375 km.

After thoughts

The distance of 750 km was not achieved, but the fuel consumption has improved.

Last refuel - Apr 30, 2015 1839 hrs VS. This refuel - May 9, 2015 0855 hrs
Low Fuel Lamp (LFL) Indicator 673 km VS. 687 km
Distance drove after LFL 32 km VS. 16 km
Tire Pressure 35 PSI VS. 36 PSI
Start mileage 109,672 km VS. End Mileage 110,375 km
Fuel nozzle auto cut off: 48.4 L VS. 46.18 L
Topped up to 50.002 L (13.21 US Gal) VS. 48 L (12.68 US Gal)

I will let the ECU settle and adapt to the improved eco driving style to gauge the performance plateau. Looks like the vehicle can go further based on the refuelling data, it took less fuel to top to full.
